The Bulwark of San Pedro Mártir is situated on the shore of the San Anastasio channel. Constructed by the engineers Cristóbal de Roda and Francisco de Murga around 1630, it would be finished in 1683 by Pando de Estrada, who would join it by a stockade to the Bulwark of San Miguel de Chambacú in Getsemaní.
Juan de Herrera y Sotomayor would improve San Pedro in 1730, opening embrasures in part of its parapet. This bulwark was partially destroyed at the beginning of the XX century, as well as the now defunct Bulwarks of San Andrés, San Pablo and San Pedro Apóstol that enclosed the walled city up to the Bridge Gateway.
